Welcome to The Gary (Indiana) Historical & Cultural Society's Photo-History Tour
In 1906, the Gary Land Company Building became the first building constructed in what would become Gary, Indiana. Gary's oldest building is maintained by The Gary Historical & Cultural Society, Inc. (or GHCS) as the city's historical museum and visitor's center. It is on the National Register for Historic Places, and is used for tours by school groups - especially those classes which are studying Gary History. There are exhibits inside which show the development of Gary. This museum is a member of AIM. Call GHCS for a Gary History Tour - (219) 882-6873.
